How NPI works as a student achievement measure
The National Progress Index is created from publicly available student results data (including NAPLAN) as well as assessment data provided by schools.
Â
This variety of credible sources allows us to create a rigorous scaled score of between 0 to 1,000, which is directly compatible with NAPLAN and so provides unbroken longitudinal growth data for literacy and numeracy.
Â
You can analyse and compare normative performance for your students against each other, wider classes and cohorts, and against both the state and nation, providing you with an accurate “big picture” understanding of their growth.
